2019 Top Ten Highlights - Part One
New partners, Newy 500 & new achievements. There’s been an unbelievable amount happening at Matt Hall Racing in 2019 and with our world championship celebration on Sunday December 8 fast approaching, we want to look back on the parts that have made this year so memorable.
In no particular order, here’s what we’ve loved in our year and the things we’ll celebrate at our public world championship event:
The Newcastle 500
Our most recent public display has been one of our favourites. Since Supercars arrived in the heart of Newcastle in 2017, we’ve wanted to be a part of the show, and this year was the right time for us to action that.
Competing in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, we had the opportunity to fly all over the world, but this year was the first time flying at a major motorsport event at home.
During race week Matt took Supercars legend Craig Lowndes flying and then performed a surface level-3000ft. display for the crowd at the track. One thing is for sure, it’s incredibly cool to have an event like this in our neck of the woods.
2019 Team Launch
From our most recent public outing, to one of our first. Our 2019 team launch came after our first race of 2019 in Abu Dhabi, but it was hands down one of our best to date!
We teamed up with Swansea-Belmont SLSC for the second year running, with the local club providing the venue for our team launch and our planes bringing the aerial magic. It was humbling to see how packed the club was as Matt performed his display.
Even better, we met so many of our fans who have followed our journey around the world for so long. In recent years we’ve worked hard to improve our online engagement to a level that is truly reflective of the passion our fans have. Hopefully the turnout at our celebration event is just as good as our launch was!
Welcoming lockr.aero to the family
Over the years Matt Hall Racing has been incredibly privileged to have a lot of great sponsors, and our current group of sponsors and partners is sensational. We’ve continued our work with QBE Insurance Australia on their Airmanship program, while also continuing a strong relationship with tech company OzRunways.
This year we welcomed a secondary aviation technology company to the fold with lockr.aero. Like us, lockr.aero is a small family run business aiming to positively influence the aviation industry by making the process of updating pilot and aircraft logbooks easier. We’ve loved the shift to digital for our logbooks, but even more, we’ve loved working with Michael and Kelli who have been incredibly supportive and are open to any idea we have to activate their brand. Literally, anything.
