Matt spoke with the Breakfast program on the Sunshine Coast’s ABC CoastFM this morning about his life as a pilot ahead of his aerobatic display at the RAAA Convention.

Australian Top Gun Matt Hall is set to thrill crowds right around Australia over the next five months with the announcement today that he will perform his dynamic aerobatic display in up to six states before the end of the year.

Headlining his late 2011 schedule, Hall has committed to performing at the Bathurst, NSW (October 7-9), Symmons Plains, Tasmania (November 11-13) and Sandown, Victoria (November 18-20) rounds of Australia’s iconic V8 Supercar championships.

The former RAAF Wing Commander will also fly two displays as part of Sydney Harbour’s massive New Years Eve celebrations, perform at the Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA) Convention on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and star at the Barossa Valley Airshow in South Australia (November 4-6).

Negotiations are also well underway for Hall to return to Perth and the scene of his greatest Red Bull Air Race performance to fly at the Langley Park Fly In on October 15 & 16.

Those displays will follow the Wide Bay International Airshow at Bundaberg this weekend and the Ingham Wings and Wheels Airshow on September 3 and 4.

An excited Hall said he was thrilled with the way his schedule had panned out over the second half of 2011, allowing him to cross the country and perform at so many different venues.

“It is certainly going to be a busy last few months of the year but it is something I am really looking forward to,” Hall said as he prepared to fly to Bundaberg from his base in Cessnock.

“I had the privilege of flying at the Sandown V8 Supercar race last year and now to be able to display at that event along with Symmons Plains and such an iconic race as Bathurst is just awesome.

“I am also flying at the Show Us Ya Wheels event in Numurkah in Victoria in December, then to end the year with New Year’s Eve over Sydney Harbour will top off a great 12 months.”

The schedule announcement comes off the back of a busy time for Hall with the launch of his Joy Flight and Services business earlier this month.

Hall, whose decorated RAAF career and thrilling exploits in the Red Bull Air Race has made him a household name, will give people the chance to fly with him in his Extra 300L – the fastest, most powerful and manoeuvrable two-seat aerobatic aircraft in Australia.

“I love taking people flying and offering joy flights is something that was a natural progression for the Matt Hall Racing business,” Hall said.

“I am pretty busy with air shows and flying displays at other events these days but the joy flights will be something I look forward to because there is nothing like seeing the excitement people get from flight.”
