Matt Hall to front Wide Bay Air Show billboards

It’s early in 2011 but Matt Hall has already received a career first.

Hall will be the advertising face of the 2011 Wide Bay Australia International Airshow that will take place in Bundaberg from August 19-21.

The three day ‘Barnstorming Bundaberg’ event was launched by Hall in 2010 and now the former RAAF pilot will front advertising billboards in Gladstone and Caboolture.

“It’s pretty bizarre to think I will be standing up there staring down at the traffic,” Hall laughed on hearing of the plan.

“In all seriousness though this is going to be a great event and I hope in some way these billboards can attract more people to the show.”

Matt Hall to launch Wide Bay Australia International Airshow

The Matt Hall Racing team is pleased to announce that Matt will help launch the 2011 Wide Bay Australia International Airshow in Bundaberg tomorrow night, throwing his weight behind the three-day event from August 19-21 next year.

As part of his commitment to the event program Matt will be guest speaker at the official launch and then display in his race aircraft at the Airshow next year.

“Matt Hall will be an absolute highlight to our 2011 air program. He has dedicated his life to flying with more than 5,000 hours in various aircraft types, including over 500 doing aerobatics. This will definitely be an aerobatic spectacular not to be missed,” said Mr Peter Tuffield, Chairman Wide Bay Australia International Airshow Board.

“We are delighted to have him in Bundaberg and he will be a valued addition to our launch” said Mr Tuffield.

Hall, who spent almost two decades in the Royal Australian Air Force before becoming the most successful rookie in the history of the Air Race World Championships, said he was honoured to be part of the Wide Bay Australia International Airshow.

“I have wanted to be part of the Wide Bay Australia International Airshow for a long time and to get this opportunity in 2011 is something I am very much looking forward to,” Hall said.

“I love that part of Queensland too and to be able to help launch the event is a bonus.”

Launch highlights include the revealing of Barnstorming Bundaberg – A new style of aviation spectacular and recognising the ongoing support from our major sponsor Wide Bay Australia LTD and our other valued sponsors.

The Matt Hall Racing team will make more exciting announcements about Matt’s 2011 schedule in the coming months.
